Exploring the world of Middle-earth and establishing a shared visual language was just the beginning of Wt Workshops seven-and-a-half-year journey on The Lord of the Rings trilogy of films.

Playing a pivotal role in guiding the project was Middle-earth veteran Alan Lee. Alans expertise and experience, not only in Middle-earth lore but also as a senior concept artist, were invaluable to the design team. His capacity to craft immersive worlds, steeped in history and emotion, with nothing but a pencil and paper, elevated Wt Workshops efforts in shaping a realistic and believable Middle-earth.

Now, you can enjoy these classic sketches, which serve as testaments to the dedication and talent Alan brought to the team, as an exquisite set of 10 postcards, each a masterpiece in its own right.
